Arnaud Weck is a Full Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Ottawa.

He has more than 15 years of experience in using ultrafast lasers to machine and texture the surface of a variety of materials, including ceramics, polymers, and metals. He has written more than 50 peer-reviewed journal articles, and holds 2 patents on ultrafast laser machining and surface texturing at the nanometer scale to tailor properties such as wettability, biocompatibility, catalysis, and colour.

Prof. Weck has a strong record of industrial collaboration, and has significant experience with technology transfer, having developed ultrafast laser-based techniques and products for various companies.
