Dr. Hang Chi is an Assistant Professor of Physics at the University of Ottawa since July 2023. His interests focus on emergent phenomena at quantum magnetic interfaces, for superior next-generation magnetic memory/logic, and scalable superconducting devices for practical quantum information and computation.

He received his BSc in Physics from Peking University in China in 2009, and a PhD in Physics from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor in 2014. After postdoctoral training at Brookhaven National Laboratory from 2015 to 2017, he moved to the Francis Bitter Magnet Laboratory at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2018, holding an Army Research Laboratory Fellowship, where he was promoted to Research Scientist in 2022.
