Dr. Jean-Claude Béïque is a Professor in the Department of Cellular and Molecular Medicine at the University of Ottawa and a member of the uOttawa Brain and Mind Research Institute’s Centre for Neural Dynamics.

He joined uOttawa in 2008 after postdoctoral training at the Howard Hughs Medical institute (HHMI) at Johns Hopkins University with Dr. Richard Huganir. He obtained is Ph.D. at McGill University.

His lab uses electrophysiological, optical, computational, and behavioural approaches to study synaptic, neuronal, and network dynamics in the brain and is currently funded by CIHR and NSERC.
