Khabat Heshami is a research officer at the National Research Council Canada (NRC). He is a fellow member of NRC-uOttawa Joint Centre for Extreme Photonics (JCEP), an Ajunct Professor at the University of Ottawa and University of Calgary, and an affiliated faculty member at the Institute for Quantum Science and Technology (IQST).

He completed his PhD in 2013 at the University of Calgary with a focus on development of quantum memories and quantum networks. He then joined NRC’s quantum photonics for security and sensing program (QPSS) in 2014 as a research associate.

He is currently leading a small team working on various aspects of photonic quantum information processing and it’s applications in sensing, communication, and computing.
