Monica Nevins obtained her PhD at MIT in 1998 and is a Full Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics.
Her research specialty is the representation theory of p-adic groups, an area which provides a plethora of algebraic tools for use in mathematical cryptography.
With her students, she explores the structure and security of post-quantum cryptosystems, with a view towards ensuring the stability of future cryptographic infrastructure.
