Serge Desgreniers received his doctoral degree from Cornell University. He is currently a Professor of Physics at the University of Ottawa where he leads the Laboratoire de physique des solides denses et Qu|bic> C Lab.
Professor Desgreniers has over 35 years of research experience in the physics of condensed matter at extreme conditions, with an interest in novel phases of classical and quantum materials at extreme conditions and in the design of diamond-based quantum devices for nanoscale sensing.
He is a regular user of international synchrotron light sources, and is currently a member of the Canadian Light Source Scientific Advisory Committee and the International Association for the Advancement of High Pressure Science and Technology Executive Committee.
